At least 10 people have been reported dead following heavy downpour in Nairobi Monday night.
Eight of the victims died after a perimeter wall surrounding a mosque collapsed on their houses at Fuata Nyayo village in South B estate.
According to Nairobi Police Commandant Benson Kibue, two others were swept away by floods in Dagoretti area along Jogoo road, The Standard reports.
In a report on Capital FM the cause of the collapse has not yet been ascertained, though there are indications that the wall could have been weakened by flooding in the area.
The heavy rains which according to the weatherman are set to continue have so far claimed tens of lives and left hundreds of people homeless across the country.
