Manoah Esipisu Feted as Diplomat of the Year in London

Kenya's outgoing envoy to the United Kingdom, Manoah Esipisu was feted as the Diplomat of the Year from Africa for 2024 by The Diplomat London.

In the event held on April 23, Esipisu received the award that commended his excellence at diplomatic activities on a global scale.

While delivering his celebratory speech, Esipisu expressed his elation at having received the award stating that it was testament to his sustained efforts in fostering strong relations between Kenya and other nations.

“Delighted and honoured to be awarded 2024 Diplomat of the Year from Africa at the glittering London Diplomatic Corps event hosted by the Diplomat London”

“The award underlined recognition of Kenya's work building strong bilateral relations and leadership on global issues,” stated Esipisu.

Notably, the London Diplomat Awards are hosted yearly by the Diplomat Magazine, a leading foreign affairs publication from the diplomatic community.

The magazine is stated to host an audience of more than 185 government representatives in London.

Esipisu’s award was presented by Chester King of the International Hospitals Group at the event which was attended by members of the diplomatic community from across the globe.   

Kenya’s mission to the UK also celebrated the outgoing ambassador noting that he has exhibited excellence while holding the post in London. 

“Presented by Chester King of International Hospitals Group, this recognition underscores Kenya’s diplomatic excellence on the global stage, ” stated the mission.

The award was presented after President William Ruto replaced Esipisu, who was appointed by former President Uhuru Kenyatta with Catherine Kirumba Karemu.

Karemu's nomination was approved by Parliament on April 17 paving the way for appointment and clearing the path for her to take up the post as the head of Kenya's mission in London.
