Additional reports indicate that the locals were complaining about sand and ballast trucks messing up the road and bringing a lot of dust.
The trucks have allegedly been using the road to avoid the weigh-bridge at Mlolongo.
The residents stated that the lorry drivers harassed them as they took their children to school.
A landlady who owns a building near the road explained that the dust had depressed the occupancy of her building
"The dust is really bad. I have lost tenants who complain about the dust," she stated.
At the same time, Embakasi East MP Babu Owino assured that the construction of the road would commence in October.
"I have met the Director General of the Kenya Urban Roads Authority and agreed that the construction of Benedictor to kinca road at Utawala ward in Embakasi east constituency will commence next week," he tweeted on Wednesday.
