4 Chinese Nationals Arrested With Contrabands in Kilimani, Nairobi

Four Chinese nationals were on Tuesday morning arrested during a raid for contrabands in Kilimani, Nairobi.

The foreigners were found with elephant tusks, leopard skins and other contraband products.

According to reports, neighbours filed a complaint of a foul smell coming for the house occupied by the Chinese nationals.

Police also discovered ornaments made from wildlife trophies and meat suspected to be from dogs.

Earlier in September, 15 Chinese nationals were arrested for prostitution in South C area of Nairobi.

The Immigration Department reported that the arrested nationals were reported to be operating a brothel in the estate.

The 15 were arrested and processed for deportation at an unmentioned date.

In another crackdown, five Chinese Nationals were arrested in Nairobi’s Lavington area with their country’s military uniform and other deadly weapons.

 Director of Immigration Department Alex Muteshi stated that the foreigners did not have any work permits.

“We got information about the Chinese operating an illegal security firm and our officers conducted a raid in their premises where they arrested the Chinese nationals with a number of items and we are taking this matter very seriously due to the security nature of the items recovered,” he stated.
