Sonko's Firm Pledge to Uhuru [VIDEO]

Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko made a commitment to President Uhuru Kenyatta during the celebrations of the Ushirika Day at KICC, on Saturday evening.

Speaking during the celebrations of the International Day of Cooperatives which the Head of State had attended, flagged by the Trade and Industrialization CS, Peter Munya, for the commissioning of the Housing Cooperative Union Plaza.

Sonko went on to urge the president to leave all the tough projects negatively affected by dirty politics in the county to him.

"If there be any other project, leave it to me, I will deal with those playing dirty politics," he began.

He went on to give Uhuru a piece of advice,

"Mr President, it is better to be unpopular but leave behind a legacy," Sonko stated amidst cheers and claps from the audience.

Sonko reminisced his moments with President Uhuru Kenyatta when he was still the Makadara MP and the president was still the Finance minister.

"I remember how you ransacked for Ksh 300 million for the commencement of Sonko Road that now runs from Jericho through BuruBuru and Umoja all the way to Dandora," Sonko recounted.

The Nairobi Governor went on to send a warning to politicians who were constantly fighting development in the county.

"To those who have encroached the roads, whether they like it or not, I shall push them behind so that the projects set are completed!" he pledged.

He further divulged that Nairobi county was fully behind the president and the matter of propagating early 2022 succession politics should be avoided.

"Nairobi county is behind you and you are the president who was elected by Kenyans. 2022 politics shall be discussed  in the future.

"All who have begun early campaigns should be warned, if they do not relent, I shall rally the Wanjiku (common citizens) and ensure that you continue with your presidency for another term until you are done with your legacy," Sonko concluded.
