K24 Anchor Opens Up on 7 Surgeries That Saved His Life

K24 news anchor Eric Njoka has revealed that he was forced to go under the knife seven times before he turned 17-years-old.

Taking to social media on Sunday, Njoka disclosed that he was born with a life-threatening disease, which the doctors believed wouldn't allow him to live longer.

Speaking exclusively to Kenyans.co.ke on Tuesday, Njoka revealed that he still has the rare abdominal condition that he manages with the help of the doctors.

He stated that at just 2-months-old, he underwent his first operation and subsequently had six more surgeries until he turned 17-years-old.

The outspoken journalist explained that he had an intestinal blockage, which the doctors had to clear and has since been left with scars on his upper body.

According to the scribe, his condition has condemned him to live a life that doesn't involve performing heavy exercise activities since the operated tissues might tear up.

Njoka further disclosed that he only came to learn about his condition when he was a teenager because his parents had kept everything under wraps.

The K24 journalist divulged that during his upbringing, he never believed he would amount to anything in the future.

"I grew up knowing I will never be anybody but ironically everything I touch turns to gold. My late father, who never saw anything grand about me, would now testify to this truth," he narrated in his social media post.

In a past interview, the K24 journalist revealed that he also doubles up as a mortician in his father’s mortuary business, Mukoe Funeral Home located in Githunguri, Kiambu county.
