46 People Killed in Fresh Bandit Attack

Terror has gripped Nadome Village in the Turkana East- Pokot border after at least 46 people were killed and many others injured in a bandit attack.

The assailants made away with an unknown number of livestock from the village, during the Monday raid.

This is the latest in a series of violent raids between the Turkana and Pokot pastoralist communities  which have left trails marked with bodies and injured survivors.

The two communities have been in conflict over the years, arising from the livestock raids and squabbles over pastures.

The attack comes hours after a separate incident in Baragoi, Samburu County which saw at least 15 people die.

The remoteness of the areas have in most cases, made it hard for security personnel to reach in time to stop the fights.

KDF soldiers have however been dispatched to Nadome following the attack.
