Cash Transit Van Involved in Grisly Accident, Two Dead

A G4S vehicle transporting cash was on Thursday, January 9 involved in a grisly collision with a lorry ferrying tank in Imenti, Meru County.

The accident is said to have left two people dead and several others seriously injured.

Reports that first appeared on Kenyan Traffic revealed that police had not arrived at the scene of the accident at the time the story was published.

"Head to head collision at Kanyakine, Imenti involving a G4S vehicle and lorry ferrying tanks. Two people died on the spot and others severely injured," the report read.

Local residents who were first to arrive at the scene of the accident rescued the injured and rushed them to medical facilities for treatment.

This comes barely a day after a bus ferrying students was involved in a freak accident that left most of them with serious injuries.

Reports stated that the Joy Kenya bus - which was ferrying 51 Baricho High School students back to school- overturned after the driver lost control.

Emergency personnel rushed to the scene where they embarked on rescuing the injured students for treatment at Sagana Sub-county Hospital.

Speaking to Kenyans.co.ke, a resident, Hudson Njogu, revealed that 14 students sustained injuries following the accident.

The Daily Nation stated that two of the victims were rushed to Kerugoya Referral Hospital for specialised treatment after sustaining serious injuries.
