Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has opened the portal for the second revision of university courses for 2020/21 KCSE candidates.

According to KUCCPS, the exercise begins on Tuesday, June 22, and will run until Monday, July 5.

The corporation informed candidates to log in to the students portal on the KUCCPS website in order to check the status of their placement on the dashboard.

Students who did not get a message are advised to head to the downloads section on the KUCCPS website and check the list of indices belonging to applicants who haven't been placed.

The students whose index appears on the list are urged to log into the student portal and revise their courses.

"If you have been placed, you will get a provision placement message awaiting Placement Service Board approval.

"Applicants who have not been placed due to competition and are required to revise will not get the message," KUCCPS stated.

How to review:

1. Log in to the student portal using your credentials i.e. username and password.

2. Click on the Applications tab in the upper left-hand corner to check the requirements.

Alternatively, search for courses by their institutions by clicking on the institution tab.

How to select courses:

1. Scroll through the programs and either add or revise the ones selected in the course bracket.

2. To enter your preferred courses, click on the application/ revisions tab on the site and enter the programme codes.

3. You can pull the program codes from your selection in the courses listed.

4. Once you are done, submit the courses you have selected.

KUCCPS added that candidates would not be paying any placement fee as they are advised to submit the M-pesa code they used during the first revision phase.

Recently, KUCPPS CEO Agnes Wahome had warned candidates against preferring the choice of university ahead of the course chosen during the revision period.

"One of the biggest mistakes that students make while selecting programmes is considering the choice of university ahead of the course.

"From our experience, the challenge is more often about selecting the highly demanded courses in highly coveted universities. If a student really desires a course, we encourage them to apply for it in universities where they will likely face less competition," she noted.
