Starehe Member of Parliament Charles Njagua alias Jaguar on Monday, June 28 was rushed to hospital for emergency surgery on his right knee.
Reports indicated that the MP complained of problems in his right knee despite seeking several medical attentions.
Speaking to the media, David Kilonzo alias DK Kwenye Beat confirmed the reports after sharing a video of Jaguar being wheeled into the theatre on his social media pages.
"He has been having this knee issue for some time now. He went to India for treatment but the problem keeps coming. So, we booked him for surgery on Sunday and he was operated on today morning," he acknowledged.
DK Kwenye Beat also affirmed that Jaguar was out of danger and would be recuperating soon. The identity of the hospital was not revealed.
"He is out of the theatre and he is now recovering. We are waiting for him to gain his strength back so that we can know what next,” the artist stated.
The MPs problems with his right leg date back to 2018, after a confrontation with Nairobi County askaris. Reports revealed that the MP had gone to the Marikiti Market to protest alleged harassment by the askaris on traders.
However, in an effort to intervene in the situation, the MP was caught in the scuffle and ultimately became collateral damage.
"As I was addressing the traders, the police threw teargas at us and that’s when I got injured as I was trying to run away from the teargas.
“I did not even realize that I had broken my leg at the moment, I later noticed that my leg had swollen,” Jaguar stated in a past interview.
The MP was rushed to Karen Hospital where he received medical attention and later discharged.
