Boinnet Summoned For Failing to Arrest PS

Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet has been summoned by the court for failing to apprehend and present Interior Principal Secretary Karanja Kibicho before the arms of justice.

The order by Justice Francis Gikonyo of a Court in Meru comes after Mr Kibicho ignored orders to appear in court for the fourth time.

“The Inspector-General of Police is ordered to come to court on July 14, to show cause why the PS cannot be arrested and produced in court,” Justice Gikonyo was quoted by the Nation.

The judge further directed that Boinnet's summon be published in the local dailies.

PS Kibicho is accused of contempt of court after he was restrained from raiding a liquor manufacturing company located in Chuka/Igambang’ombe during the crackdown on illicit brew.

Kibicho went ahead to destroy alcohol products at the company of one Albert Gitari (the accuser) who was arrested during the operation.
