Businessman Returns Gun After Killing Finance Officer

A businessman who allegedly shot and killed another man after finding him with his girlfriend at Garden Estate along Thika road has surrendered to the authorities.

Leonard Kanari walked into Kasarani Police Station on Tuesday after being in hiding for more than three days.

The 35-year-old, who is said to be a property developer, also handed in a pistol that he supposedly used to kill Christopher Adangi, an employee at a credit bureau.

Confirming the incident, Kasarani OCPD Robinson Mboloki assured that investigations had begun and the suspect would be charged with murder.

“At 10 am Tuesday, Leonard Kanari, the suspect who is believed to have shot dead Cristopher Adangi in the wee hours of Saturday, surrendered himself together with the pistol that is registered to him and which we believe was used to commit the crime,” stated Mboloki.

According to authorities, Kanari is suspected to have shot the deceased in the stomach in a crime of passion.

The woman in the love triangle, Edna Kariuki, has apparently narrated her account of the ordeal to the police.

Reports indicated that the accused was taken for a psychiatric check up before recording his statement.
