Chaos Erupt During CS Waiguru's Probing

A parliamentary committee session that was today probing Devolution Cabinet Secretay Anne Waiguru over graft allegations at the National Youth Service degenerated into a chaotic session.

Members of Parliament are said to have clashed, turning the session into a moment of shouting and heated arguments.

Legislators who are not members of the grilling committee are said to have intruded the session.

The Nation reports, that the meeting was also attended by many "friends of the committee" who were mainly MPs from Central Kenya.

According to a Star report, a section of Central Kenya MPs, among them Kabete MP Ferdinand Waititu, Nyeri Women Representative Priscilla Nyokabi and Juja MP Francis Waititu are said to have shouted down Ugunja MP Opiyo Wandayi for questioning the CS on the use of funds at the NYS.

Wandai was forced to leave the session as a section of MPs cheered his exit.

Kitutu Chache MP Richard Onyonka sparked a contest with Nominated MP Oburu Odinga after he questioned why Oburu was present in the sesssion, yet he is not a member of the committee.

Waiguru was in Parliament to answer to questions on the attempted theft of over Sh860 million through cyber fraud, and the recruitment criteria of the NYS.

The CS defended herself saying cyber crime is not unique to the NYS and the Devolution ministry.

Majority leader Aden Duale through a tweet noted the chaos in the session but hailed the CS's performance during the probing.
