City Lawyer Shames Kimaiyo in Twitter Fight

City lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi on Saturday sparked an online fight with retired Inspector General of Police David Kimaiyo.

The confrontation was occasioned by a tweet from the Senior Counsel that apparently mocked Kimaiyo for his recent dismissal from the Kenya Airports Authority (KAA).

Ahmednassir tweeted: “David Kimaiyo was utterly humiliated and thrown out of the window...literally. KAA chairmanship was too big for him".

The Advocate’s remarks seemingly did not sit well with the former Inspector General of Police who fired back quoting a 2014 article to show that Ahmednasir was always opposed to his leadership.

“Ahmednasir Abdullahi wasn't happy with my operations on terrorists. Am proud I managed, no more bombs in Nairobi,” Kimaiyo wrote citing a newspaper column titled: Kenyan Somalis are treated like second-class citizens.

Inside the 2014 publication, Ahmednassir had referred to Kimaiyo as “a Bible-wielding police officer, (who) spends more time in Bible studies than in mapping out security strategies”.

The lawyer also referred to as the grand muller, further tweeted back stating: “Kimaiyo is the only Kenyan HE Uhuru sacked twice in two years...God HE Uhuru has a very low opinion of the man!!” Ahmednasir posted.

A seemingly agitated Kimaiyo pounced again: “Did you receive the alleged sacking letters on my behalf? Get facts right and don't look for a job in my name”.

In a gazette notice released on Friday, President Uhuru Kenyatta revoked the appointment of Kimaiyo as Chairman of the KAA, replacing him with immediate former Chief of Defence Forces Julius Karangi.
