The government, through Teachers Service Commission and a teacher who defiled two students have been ordered in a ruling, to pay Sh5 million as compensation for the two girls.
Presiding judge, Justice Mumbi Ngugi faulted the service commission saying it had failed in enforcing the code of ethics put in place to prevent such incidents.
The former teacher, Henry Amkoah defiled the two underage girls at his home on July 4, 2010.
Amkoah pretended to be taking the girls to the annual ASK show but instead took them to his house and committed the heinous crime.
The teacher has been denying the allegations all along but TSC dismissed him after conducting investigations into the matter.
Despite the measure, TSC is now set to bear part of the burden by jointly paying the fine with the offender.
