Deliverance Church Pastors Fight During Service

Worshippers at a Deliverance Church had to seek safety after their pastors broke into a fierce fight cutting short the service.

The scene in the Church in Rongo, Migori County, turned chaotic when pastors began throwing stones and chairs at each other in an incident linked to leadership wrangles.

It is reported that several faithfuls were injured during the Sunday scuffle pitting Pastor Tom Nyerere against another only identified as Bishop Oselo.

According to a report by the Star, the chaos prompted church members to abandon their cars and motorbikes as they scampered for safety.

Factions supporting the two leaders failed to agree on who ought to lead the church, hence hurled insults at each other to the amazement of the small and brave congregation that adamantly stayed put.

Police intervened moments later and arrested the situation before it could take a worse course.

Confirming the incident, area police boss Jonathan Kisaka said they had to move in swiftly to bar criminals from taking advantage of the chaos.
