Two doctors were on Wednesday caught performing an abortion on a 14-year old girl whom they had allegedly kidnapped.
The physicians from a Kakamega hospital are said to have abducted the minor on Tuesday night from her home and hid her in an unidentified health care facility, where they started performing the illegal procedure.
The girl's relatives are said to have launched a search for her but were unsuccessful.
A doctor at the hospital who was aware of the operation tipped off the police, who then arrived on time and saved the girl believed have been five months pregnant.
The two doctors identified as Paul Mugahi and Betty Halivura were allegedly working on orders from a 35-year old man reportedly responsible for the pregnancy.
According to a report by K24, police said that the man was Halivura's brother.
The two doctors were detained at the Kakamega Police Station while the other suspect is being hunted.
