Kalonzo Now Fears for His Life

Wiper Movement Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka on Thursday disclosed that is fearing for his life following last weeks demonstrations at the Independent Electoral and Bounderies Commission's offices.

Speaking during an interview, Kalonzo expressed that his security detail Luke Keitany had been withdrawn after the protest, adding that he (Kalonzo) was a target during the demonstrations to ouster IEBC commissioners.

The former Vice President claimed that Mr Keitany was threatened with disciplinary action by Inspector of Police Joseph Boinnet after the Anniversary Towers' chaotic protests.

“Some people are saying I was not at Anniversary Towers during the demonstrations and yet the police were targeting me. Keitany did his job well to protect me after the officers wanted to hit me,” Kalonzo was quoted by the Star.

The CORD co-principal went ahead and accused the jubilee administration of bribery and intimidating Opposition leaders.

Kalonzo also claimed that the ruling coalition was trying to lure him to work with them and ditch CORD, but vowed never to work with President Uhuru Kenyatta.

“I cannot sell my conscience to work with an administration that doesn’t respect people’s rights and believes in bribery and intimidation to remain in power. This government’s days are numbered because Kenyans want transparency and accountability,” the Cord co-principal affirmed.

Kalonzo, however, stated that he would welcome the President in Kitui on May 19, but would remind him that the Ukambani region was CORD's political stronghold.
