Kenya Wins IAAF Championships

Kenya has recorded its best performance ever in the IAAF World Championships.

Having bagged 7 gold medals, 6 silver and 3 bronze, Kenya secured the top position at the IAAF World Championships in Beijing, China.

Kenya's Asbel Kiprop wrapped up the exemplary performance after he dramatically claimed the 1500m title.

Kiprop was last position at bell, however, he took a charge with less than 200m to go making his way through to first position, and thrillingly crossing the line first, at 3 minutes 34.40 seconds.

Elijah Manangoi wrapped up a top two Kenyan finish after finishing second.

Jamaica finished second with 7 gold, 2 silver and 3 bronze while United States of America emerged third with 5 gold, 6 silver and 6 bronze.

The championships came to a close on Sunday, after a nine day event packed period.
