'Lazy' MCA's In Nairobi To Be Punished

Nairobi County assembly members will not be receiving their sitting allowance until September 222015.

The directive was issued by the Deputy Speaker Kennedy Ngondi as a punishment to members for failing to attend house sessions.

Mr. Ngondi said that failure to attend sittings has affected service delivery because of the constant adjournments that the house is pushed to make.

Ngondi further pointed out that there has been delay in legislation of bills and thus far only 3 bills have been passed in 1 year.

Nairobi County receives the highest amount of funds from the National government for development but without legislations this can be impossible to achieve.

Ngondi noted that poor attendance by the MCA's has caused the house to lag behind.
