Man Jumps From 8th Floor at Kenyatta Hospital

Police are investigating circumstances surrounding the death of a man who allegedly committed suicide at the Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) on Saturday.

Bernard Kipngetich, 24, jumped from KNH's 8th floor and died on the spot after sustaining severe head injuries.

Police are, however, probing to establish if the patient killed himself or was pushed to his death.

Nairobi Deputy police boss Moses Ombati confirmed sending a team to investigate the matter.

It is reported that Kipngetich was working under the National Youth Service (NYS) community programme before his demise.

According to police records, incidents of suicide at the largest referral facility in Kenya happen about twice each month, with the most recent being a cancer patient who plunged to his death from 7th to the 2nd floor.
