Trouble Looms After Nairobi Church Kills 2 'Evil' Owls

Nairobi's Winners Chapel could part with Sh2 Million following the killing of two 'evil' owls.

On Thursday last week, Pastor Patrick Ngutu from the chapel posted an image of a dead owl that had been killed in the church's compound during a service.

According to Ngutu, the owl was the second to be killed on the same day.

“The second owl 'witch' that was killed @winners Chapel Int'l Nairobi...suffer not a witch to live,” Ngutu captioned the photo.

However, the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) immediately reacted on its Twitter page.

“KWS has received reports of the killing of two owls at Winners Chapel, we are in the process of investigating,” KWS stated.

When contacted by Kenyans.co.ke on Monday, a KWS communication officer declined to divulge on the action they would take against the church.

According to the Kenya Wildlife Act of 2014, Hunting and killing any mammals, birds, and sea shell attracts a fine of Sh1 Million or a two-year imprisonment.

The Winners Chapel is located less than a kilometre from the Nairobi National Park, a factor that could explain the presence of the two owls at the church.

Pastor Ngutu deleted the post after he received criticism for killing an innocent bird.
