Notorious Nairobi Kidnappers Arrested, Woman Rescued

Three suspected kidnappers were arrested in Kiambu County after abducting a woman on Thursday evening.

The gang members including a woman were nabbed on Friday morning in a police operation at Ruiru.

The three had kidnapped a woman as she was waiting to board a matatu along the Eastern bypass and demanded a ransom of Sh200,000.

In a report by the Standard, police said the woman’s family had already sent Sh15,000 to the abductors.

Detectives from Special Crimes Prevention Unit rescued the woman after tracking the three-man gang to the Nakuru-Nairobi highway.

Head of Special Crimes Prevention unit Noah Katumo, said they recovered a sellotape from the getaway car, which the gang had been using to tie its victims.

According to police, the three kidnappers have been mentioned in at least five such cases and are being held at Ruiru Police Station.

Security agents want individuals who have fallen victim to the gang to come forward and help the identification of its members.
