PHOTOS: Kenyans Mock Injured Police Officers

A section of the public is reading mischief in the claims by the Government that 30 police officers were injured on Monday during the anti-IEBC demonstrations.

Interior Principal Secretary Karanja Kibicho, who received the officers from Siaya and Kisumu Counties at Wilson airport on Tuesday, said they were injured after protesters broke into County Government Offices and a Police Station.

Among the injured, 11 were airlifted to Nairobi, a decision that Kibicho defended saying hospitals in Kisumu could not handle the police casualties. The PS added that the officers would be taken to a hospital in Nairobi West.

However, some Kenyans online suspected that the police was pulling a public relations stunt to justify the excessive force used on protesters, killing three and injuring several others.

Guys don't complain about #InjuredCops maybe they were flown to Nairobi to get their injured body parts replaced

According to Kenyan media, a stone thrown by a civilian is more lethal than a bullet fired by the police. #InjuredCops
