PHOTOS: Okoa Kenya Fake Signatures Exposed

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has unveiled some of the invalid signatures submitted by the CORD coalition in its Okoa Kenya referendum bid.

In a press conference on Thursday at the Commission's headquarters, IEBC officials laid bare some signatures they received for the Okoa Kenya drive, in a bid to explain the nullification of 741,979 out of the 1,633,577 signatures presented.

The Commission stated that the records were available for the media to carry out their own analysis after critical questions were raised by Opposition leaders on the signature verification exercise.

IEBC added that those who objected their decision were free to challenge them.

On Wednesday, Opposition leaders protested the outcome of the verification process, accusing the electoral body of being compromised by the Jubilee Government.

According to IEBC's announment, the Okoa Kenya proposal had failed as it did not meet the 1 Million signature threshold as required by the constituiton.
