PHOTOS: Raila Takes Moses Kuria on Lunch Date

Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (CORD) leader Raila Odinga on Tuesday hosted for lunch Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria and seven other lawmakers who were detained on allegations of hate speech.

The leaders gathered at Kosewe Restaurant located along Kimathi Street to fulfil a promise Odinga made last week when the eight were locked up at Pangani and Muthaiga Police Stations.

Other CORD leaders including Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka, Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula and Siaya Senator James Orengo joined the party.

Kuria had earlier pointed out that he had engaged in a telephone conversation with Mr Odinga who invited him for lunch once they were released.

The Gatundu South legislator said that they had decided to have fish, ugali and his favourite vegetables, Osuga.

Kuria indicated that he had made peace with the Opposition lawmakers and would embark on preaching peace in various parts of the country.

The 'lunch date' was intended to show that Mr Odinga had 'unconditionally' forgiven the Gatundu MP for calling for the Opposition leader's 'assassination'.
