Police 'Find' Gun Used to Kill Jacob Juma

A rifle recovered from four kidnappers gunned down on Sunday near Nyayo Stadium could have been used in the murder of businessman Jacob Juma, police have said.

Inspector General of police Joseph Boinnet stated that preliminary examinations were linking the two cartridges recovered at the scene of Juma's murder to the AK47 found with the suspected abductors.

“Examinations of two similar weapons recovered during recent encounters with criminals indicate one of them could be the murder weapon. This could, therefore, lead to the arrest of the murderer(s) of the late Jacob Juma,” a statement from Boinett read in part.

According to the statement released on Monday, police have questioned 28 people over Juma's murder, but no suspect had been apprehended.

On Sunday, four suspected kidnappers were shot dead by police near the Nyayo roundabout after an alleged abduction incident in the Central Business District.
