Police Shoot Two Suspected Gangsters Dead

Police in Embu county have shot dead two suspected gangsters in a fierce gun fight.

This was after a group of four suspects refused to stop despite being flagged down by police who had been acting on a tip off.

The police then proceeded to open fire which the group returned.

Two of the suspected robbers died in the shoot out while two others escaped

Two arms, a pistol and Ceska were recovered from the scene.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the gang could have been targeting a certain wealthy businessman in Embu town.

According to a report by Citizen TV, Embu County Deputy Police Commander Leonard Lutta confirmed the incident while thanking members of the public for the tip off.

He further encouraged them to be vigilant and not to hesitate to report any causes for concern to the police.

The bodies were taken to Embu Level Five Hospital mortuary.

In the mean time, a man hunt has been launched for the two suspect who have since disappeared.

The incident comes in the wake of rising concerns over insecurity in the area.

Barely a week ago, robbers had broken into the home of former Embu mayor and critically injured the house help when she tried to raise alarm.
