Popular KTN Anchor Releases Video After Being Retrenched

KTN news anchor Wilson Mburu has left the station.

The Prime Time News anchor confirmed his departure through a tweet as well as a video on his facebook page expalining the circumstances for his departure.

In the tweet, he bid goodbye to his former employer, KTN as friends and colleagues flooded his timeline with messages of goodbye.

In the video post, he said that he had been retrenched after the company embarked on a restructuring program and found his position at the company, redundant.

He also made it clear that he bore no ill feelings towards KTN and would not take legal action against the station.

The anchor, best known for his satirical segment, Mock The Week, which airs on Sundays, said he was not broken up with KTN's decision to let him go.

He added that as a businessman, he understood the decision.

Although he did not reveal his next plans, he promised his fans that he would not be taking a sabbatical leave and would soon be back on their screens.

His departurre comes even as several other employees at the media house were allegedly retrenched.

Unconfirmed reports indicate that Swahili anchor Mwanaisha Chidzuga has also left the company.
