Prophet Dr David Owuor of the Repentance and Holiness Ministry has expelled a pastor alleged to have fraudulently obtained Sh4.9 Million from Kings’ Outreach Church.
Reverend Everlyne Opondo is said to have gotten the money after claiming she would help register the church countrywide.
National Council of Bishops of the Repentance and Holiness Ministry led by Prophet Owuor excommunicated Ms Opondo after a meeting held in Nairobi.
“I would like to inform the public and followers that the said person ceases to be a pastor and an agent of our ministry with immediate effect. As you know our ministry will not like to be associated with dishonesty, as this amounts to sinning in the church,” Dr Owuor was quoted by the Daily Nation.
Pastor Opondo was arraigned at the Milimani law courts on Friday where she denied the charges and was released on a cash bail of Sh500,000 with an alternative of Sh2 Million bond.
The case will be heard on August 23.
