Raila Meets Uhuru at State House

President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto on Tuesday held a meeting with CORD leader Raila Odinga and his co-principal Moses Wetangula at State House.

Reports indicated that the agenda of the meeting was the current standoff regarding the fate of the IEBC Commissioners. 

The leaders were also expected to delve into the contention surrounding plans by the Opposition to hold parallel Madaraka Day celebrations at Uhuru Park.

Mr Odinga reportedly left a funeral in Narok County to attend the meeting with the President after a phone call from State House.

Wiper leader and CORD co-principal Kalonzo Musyoka was out of the country on a trip to Beijing, China.

The CORD leaders were also invited to a State Luncheon in honour of South Korean President Park Geun- hye.

During the brief session, Kenyatta invited Odinga and Wetangula to Afraha Stadium in Nakuru for the Madaraka Day celebrations.
