Standard 7 Boy Stabs Schoolmate

A 12-year-old boy from Sparki Primary School in Mombasa County, stabbed his schoolmate on Friday evening as they were heading home from school.

According to witnesses, the standard seven pupil was jokingly waving the knife towards his colleague when he tried to jab him on the neck.

The knife however stuck deep in the victim's wrist as he blocked his neck with his left hand.

The boy was rushed to Mombasa Hospital where a three-hour operation was conducted to remove the knife.

The victim's mother revealed that she was informed of the incident by her son's friends who were walking with him when the unfortunate it happened

"I was informed the boy stabbed him as he mockingly said: "Hii ni nini? Hii ni kisu? Naweza wadunga nyinyi! (What is this? This is a knife, I can stab you guys!)," the mother was quoted by the Nation.

The suspect ran away and according to Mombasa Urban OCPD Martin Asin, police have launched investigation into the matter.
