Drama was witnessed at a guest house in Kirinyaga County after a pastor came upon his wife having an illicit affair with a 70 year old man.
Martin Mureithi had been suspicious that his wife was breaking her marriage vows.
Acting on a tip off from friends, Mureithi tracked his wife and the man to Happy Night Guest House, where he caught them red handed.
Enraged by the betrayal he beat up both of them, attracting a large crowd.
It took the intervention of the police to stop Mureithi and members of the public who also wanted a piece of the man.
The wife, not feeling remorseful, insisted that he loved the old man, accusing Mureithi of having failed in his duties as a husband.
She was taken into police custody along with the lover for fear that the crowd would attack them.
