VIDEO: Ruto Lectures Wetangula at Funeral

Deputy President William Ruto has urged Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula to ditch the Opposition just weeks after apparently mocking him at an event in Meru County.

Speaking during the burial of Webuye-West Member of Parliament Dan Wanyama's mother, DP Ruto cracked up the crowd after publicly advising Wetangula to quit 'gambling' in the CORD Coalition and join Jubilee.

Ruto told the Senator that he was not assured of getting a chance to vie for the Presidential seat in CORD, wooing him to join the ruling coalition.

“I don't know how you lost your connections while you were in the government during Kibaki's time. You have come to try your luck and gamble with these people and you are not even sure who will fly your flag. Come to our side so that we can work together,” he said amid waves of laughter.

The Deputy President counseled Wetangula telling him that he had also been on the Opposition side where he tried the same 'game' but failed.

“You know I was on that side and I tried all that you are doing. Even the people are rallying you to join me so that we form this government together,” he stated as Wetangula keenly listened.

During the event, several legislators from the region expressed their wish to collaborate with Jubilee to foster development in the area.

Just two weeks ago, Ruto seemingly ridiculed Wetangula following an incident where the Senator was allegedly battered by his wife.
