VIDEO: Ruto Mocks Wetangula Over Beating by Wife

Deputy President William Ruto has apparently launched a scathing attack at Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula over an incident where the Opposition leader was allegedly beaten by his wife.

Speaking during a fundraiser in Meru County, the DP indirectly hit out at CORD leaders Raila Odinga, Kalonzo Musyoka and Mr Wetangula accusing them of being a confused group.

“We as Jubilee, are very organized. We know who our candidate for 2017 is, we also know which party it is. Our candidate is Uhuru Kenyatta and the party is Jubilee.

“These other people (CORD) do not know who their candidate is, they do not know what party they will use. They are still gambling with themselves. They don’t know whether it is this ‘witchdoctor’ who says he is left with only one bullet, which we don’t know is meant to hit who, or it is the one who is always at the centre and does not know which direction to take, or it is the other one we hear was beaten by the wife,” Ruto posed,  leaving the crowd bursting in laughter.

The deputy president went further to seemingly mock Wetangula stating: “Families have a lot of issues. But even if you are beaten by your wife, do you go and report to the police station? Are you not supposed to remain silent and encourage yourself that after all no one else has seen you being assaulted”.

In March this year, Senator Wetangula hit headlines after reports emerged that he reported to the police that he had been assaulted by his wife after accusing her of infidelity.

The senator is reported to have sustained injuries leading to a small swelling on the left side of his scalp, soft tissue injuries on the chest, wrist, elbow and ankle which appeared to have been caused by a blunt object.

On the other hand, Ms Wetangula also alleged to have sustained injuries in the head, chest, legs and hand from the assault.
