In the video uploaded on the official Spurs' website, Wanyama expresses gratitude to his Kenyan fans in Swahili for their support and at the same time anticipates playing at the White Hart Lane.

Relatively translated as: "Hi Kenyans..I want to thank you for your support and I encourage you to join the Tottenham fan base...I will continue flying the Kenyan flag high and hope for a good season. Do have a good day".

According to media reports, the tactical midfielder's move is approximated to have cost Sh1.6 Billion though neither of the two clubs has confirmed.

Reports by the British media also indicate that Wanyama could earn up to Sh35 Million monthly after signing the 5-year contract.
