Jubilee Secretary General Raphael Tuju Apologises To Aspirants and Supporters for Chaos Witnessed During Nominations

Jubilee Party Secretary General Raphael Tuju has apologised for the chaotic scenes witnessed during the first day of its nominations.

Speaking to the press at the Party headquarters in Pangani, Tuju admitted that the party had failed to follow due diligence when preparing for the primaries adding that he would take responsibility for the mess that marred the exercise.

“"I apologise for the inconvenience caused to our aspirants and supporters. I will take responsibility for the mess. These things took place under my watch. I will work to ensure our supporters get a chance to elect the leaders they prefer to fly Jubilee's flag,” said Tuju.

He added that Jubilee would take stock of the mishaps in the various counties which would define how to deal with this process going forward.

The Secretary General noted that the aspirants and supporters of the Party were justified in being upset with inconsistencies witnessed during the polls.

The primaries were suspended countrywide after aspirants complained of delays and lack of enough voting material sparking chaos in most of the polling stations.

In Embu, Runyenjes MP Cecily Mbarire blasted the party’s organ for the disorganisation and unpreparedness.

"This is very disappointing since we did not expect a party of Jubilee's status to have disorganised polls the way they did," ranted Mbarire.

Mbarire, who is vying for Embu governorship, lamented that despite the assurances made by Tuju’s team ahead of the nominations, they were met with inadequacies that bungled the whole exercise.
