The Ministry of Public Service on Wednesday, September 8, announced service interruption at Huduma Centres in the country.

According to the ministry, Huduma Centres were experiencing technical malfunctions and Kenyans can not access the crucial services offered at the moment.

The statement did not specify the nature of the technical malfunction but it asked Kenyans to be patient promising that the issue was being looked into.

The government noted that not all services had been interrupted and advised Kenyans to try and access information by calling 0206900020.

"Following a technical malfunction, we wish to notify the public of the unavailability of some services at the Huduma Centers.

"We request you to bear with us as we work towards a swift resolution. You can still easily access Government information by calling 0206900020," the statement read.

Huduma Centres have been at the forefront of bringing government services close to Kenyans and in April 2021, they expanded their services to cater to pensioners' needs.

A number of pension services can be accessed at the centres including change of pay point, claiming a returned pension, real-time status for pension applications, claiming dependants pension, obtain a printout of pension remittance reports, reporting the passing on of a deceased pensioner and obtain a print out of annual tax reports to enable pensioners to file tax returns.

In July, Chief Justice Martha Koome revealed that the Judiciary would be partnering with the Ministry of Information, Communications And Telecommunication, through Huduma Centres.

Koome explained that the judiciary will have a desk at the centres where Kenyans will be able to file their cases.

The CJ opined that the move will help expedite the justice system. The e-service was to be rolled out in Kisumu and Mombasa counties as well as Nairobi.
