Public Communications and Digital Strategist specialist, Dennis Itumbi, is not in Police Custody according to his family and lawyers following reports of his abduction.

While speaking to the press on Thursday, December 23, Itumbi's family stated that their kin was not at the Parklands Police station as they had been informed.

His brother, David Itumbi, stated that Itumbi was taken from Thindigua by three unknown men who whisked him away in a white vehicle but they did not take him to the police station.

David told journalists that they suspected some foul play in Itumbi's disappearance and urged the government to release his brother if they are holding him.

"We are very concerned as the family. I was with Dennis last night and he was taking medication and we feel that whoever is holding him, we are suspecting some foul play. The government should allow us to give him his drugs. We urge the government to tell us where he is," David stated.

Itumbi's lawyer, Moses Chelangach, told the press that David called him and informed him that Dennis had been taken by unknown men. The family was informed that Itumbi had been booked at Parklands Police station but they did not find him there.

"His phone is going through and it is unfortunate that the government is not telling us where he is yet they have the tools to locate him. We believe Dennis disappearance is being enforced by the State," Chelangach stated.

"We also have reasons to believe that being a long festive season people will want to hold him for five days in custody because the next court appearance is on December 27," he added as he pleaded with the police to reveal Itumbi's whereabouts.

His sentiments on Itumbi's disappearance were echoed by Nandi Senator, Samson Cherargei, who opined that the State has a hand in Itumbi's disappearance.

Cherargei further stated that witnesses saw the people who took Itumbi. He added that it is unfair for the State to hold the UDA Communications and Digital Strategist specialist during this period, especially with his health issues.

"We know very well that Dennis Itumbi has been exposing the monkey business that senior government officials have been doing. We believe this is a political vendetta against Itumbi and we must challenge the government to release him," the Nandi senator stated.

"This country is not a banana republic where somebody wakes up one day and decides to make the law. Those people who are in these government offices that run the apparatus of Interior and security should be put on notice. They might think they have power but i can assure them they will serve their jail terms," he added.
