President William Ruto's daughter, Charlene Ruto, introduced staff who reportedly work in the Office of the First Daughter.

While speaking at an event in Tanzania on Tuesday, December 13, Charlene revealed that the staff assisted her in running day-to-day duties.

Her team, she divulged, comprised a principal advisor, and a head of trade and investments, among others.

"I wanted to introduce my team from Kenya quickly. We have Mike Sagana, who is one of the team members.

"He is a politician and a principal advisor on my team. Jermaine Momanyi - he is the head of trade and investments in the Office of the First Daughter," she added.

However, she did not indicate when the office was created and where it is based.

Additionally, Charlene did not disclose whether the government funded the office or she runs it from her own pocket.

Her revelations, however, stirred a debate online as a section of Kenyans questioned the existence and legitimacy of the office.

"I have come across the president's daughter indicating to have a staffed office of the first daughter. This is a very unique development. Who is funding the activities of this office? William Nyakwanda queried.

"If she is not doing anything that is against the law or is misappropriating funds. She is creating value," Governance expert Fred Ogola opined.

Azimio la Umoja politicians also weighed in on the debate, claiming that the office's existence was a mystery that would be unravelled soon.

Charlene's revelation of her office barely came days after she elicited another debate after claiming that she sold the popular fast food smokie pasua at Daystar University.

Since Ruto's inauguration, Charlene has been transversing the country, raising her profile. She also flew abroad several times - a move that raised eyebrows.

In a past interview, the first daughter indicated that she often updates the President of her engagements as they share the same vision.

"We had a sit down with my father and he really supports me," the first daughter stated.

"I always keep him updated about the things that I am doing," Charlene added.
