Sammy Chemoiwo

Sammy Chemoiwo is a principal at the Rift Valley Institute of Science and Technology (RVIST)

In May 2023, he received a gold medal in the leadership category for inclusivity.

Additionally, his school was honored with a gold medal for the Sustainable Development Goals Award at the sixth edition of the World Federation of Colleges and Polytechnics.

The educationist was honoured alongside his predecessor Dr Daniel Mutai who received a silver medal in the Lifetime Achievement award category, during the sixth edition of the World Federation of Colleges and Polytechnics (WFCP) 2023 awards. The gala was held in Montreal, Canada.

The event, which is the largest professional and technical education event worldwide, was attended by 700 delegates.

“We have been focusing on 13 Sustainable Development Goals. We are running programs in and outside RVIST on clean environment, food nutrition and security, climate change, and youth empowerment among others,” he stated at the time.

RVIST prides itself on equipping its learners with skills to combat the climate crisis across the region.
