Man Jumps From 4th Floor In Mombasa After 3 Friends Show Up at His Door

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) officers in Nyali, Mombasa County have launched investigations after a 35-year-old man allegedly jumped from the 4th floor of a storey building.

According to detectives, they received a phone call from the apartment's caretaker who informed them about the incident.

The officers who quickly rushed to the scene of the incident sought more information from the caretaker who was in shock following the incident. 

"The panic-stricken caretaker of the apartment within the Kadzandani area explained how he saw a fellow human land on the ground of his workplace, only to realize it was one of his tenants," detectives narrated.

According to the detectives, they interviewed the man's wife who informed them that the husband jumped off the building after potting three 3 at the door.

"The wife allegedly had heard a knock at their door, and as she went to answer it, her husband who peeped from the bedroom window flung to the balcony and flew down," the DCI officers detailed.

After realizing the man had jumped, the three men scampered away before the curious neighbours, most of whom watched in dismay intervened.

Despite falling off, the man survived but nursed broken limbs and was rushed to the Coast General Hospital.

"Whereas the motive behind the jump remains unestablished, the search for the three friends who holed up since has been launched," the DCI officers noted.

In a similar incident, a 23-year-old lost his life after jumping from the 4th floor of a hotel in the Central Business District in Mombasa.

The incident left locals who witnessed it in shock. The police who were informed of the incident rushed to the scene, cordoned the area, and launched investigations.

According to a police report, the man died as a result of injuries to the head and abdomen.
