A grisly road accident on the Eldoret-Webuye road has claimed the lives of ten people and left scores injured.
Reports indicate that the accident took place when a Kakamega bound matatu tried to overtake a trailer but ended up ramming into the truck.
The Sunday 11 am incident saw seven people die on the spot including the matatu driver and his conductor.
Three more people succumbed to injuries while being rushed to hospital.
According to The Standard, Western police traffic boss Evans Getembe confirmed the incident.
Other casualties continue to be attended to at Eldoret Hospital and Webuye District Hospital.
