Six newly elected Members of Parliament were sworn on Tuesday, December 2, 2025 at the National Assembly by Speaker Moses Wetangula.
The swearing-in followed by-elections held on Thursday, November 27, 2025, in constituencies where vacancies had arisen due to the death of officeholders or cabinet nominations of former MPs.
The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) confirmed the winners in a gazette notice dated December 1, 2025.
In its statement, the commission said it had exercised its mandate under Articles 88 and 101 of the Constitution, as well as relevant provisions of the Elections Act and Elections (General) Regulations, to declare the results.
The MPs sworn in include Hon. Harrison Garama Kombe of Magarini Constituency, who garnered 17,909 votes.
Also sworn in was Hon. Ahmed Maalim Hassan of Banissa Constituency after securing 10,431 votes.
Hon. Boyd Were Ongondo of Kasipul Constituency took the oath after receiving 16,819 votes.
Hon. David Athman Ndakwa of Malava Constituency followed with 21,564 votes.
Mbeere North’s Hon. Leo Wa Muthende Njeru, who earned 15,802 votes, attracted loud cheers from the public gallery.
Ugunja’s Hon. Moses Okoth Omondi completed the list after winning with 9,447 votes.
Key constituencies that drew significant interest included Mbeere North, Ugunja, Malava, Magarini, and Kasipul.
Political observers view the races as early tests of voter sentiment ahead of the 2027 contest.
