Nairobi, Kiambu and Embu are among the regions that are set to experience occasional rains over the next five days, with residents advised to prepare for intermittent showers, especially during the afternoon and evening hours, according to the latest update from the Kenya Meteorological department.

Kenya Met, in its weekly forecast, announced that most parts of the country will remain sunny and dry from Tuesday to Saturday. However, some areas, including the Highlands East and West of the Rift Valley, the Rift Valley itself, and the Lake Victoria Basin, are expected to experience occasional rainfall.

In Nairobi and surrounding counties such as Kiambu, Murang’a, and Nyeri, mornings are expected to be cloudy with light rains breaking into sunny intervals. Afternoons may bring showers over a few places, while nights will remain partly cloudy with a chance of rain.

The maximum temperatures in Nairobi during this period are projected at 29°C, while minimum temperatures will hover around 5°C, reflecting relatively cool nights and warm days.

At the same time, there will be a chance of showers expected in the afternoons and nights, with maximum temperatures around 34°C.

Coastal counties, such as Mombasa, Kilifi, Lamu and Kwale, will see a mix of sunny intervals and occasional showers throughout the week.

Nights in these counties are expected to be partly cloudy, with maximum temperatures around 34°C and minimums at 23°C.

The Highlands West of the Rift Valley, including Kisumu, Siaya, Homabay, Migori, Kisii and Nakuru counties, will experience sunny intervals in the mornings and showers over a few places in the afternoons and nights. Maximum temperatures are forecast at 32°C, with minimums around 5°C.

North-western counties, including Turkana and Samburu, will experience sunny intervals for most of the week, with strong southeasterly winds above 25 knots expected.

Afternoon showers may occur in isolated areas, and nights will remain partly cloudy in those areas.
