State House Driver Charged With Ferrying Stolen Goods in Nakuru

A driver attached to State House was charged in a Nakuru Court with using a government vehicle to ferry stolen goods.

Albert Kiptui, who is a driver attached to State House Nakuru, was accused of breaking into a building and stealing 400 bales of hay worth Sh160,000 on the night of May 23 in Rongai area in Nakuru.

The suspect and his accomplices then loaded the stolen property onto a waiting lorry before speeding off.

They were however spotted by members of the public who duly informed the police, leading to their arrest at Salgaa trading centre along the Nakuru-Eldoret highway

Appearing before Magistrate Geoffrey Odour, Kiptui failed to take a plea and was released on a Sh50,000 bail.

The case will be mentioned on May 29.
