Former Kibwezi MP Kalembe Ndile Involved in Accident

Former Kibwezi Member of Parliament (MP) Kalembe Ndile has been hospitalised after being involved in an accident at Devki area along the Nairobi-Mombasa highway on Saturday morning.

The accident involved a Subaru Forester driven by Mr Ndile and Mercedes Benz belonging to one Nicodemus.

Ndile, who was headed to Mombasa collided head on with the Mercedes Benz which was heading in the opposite direction.

However, reports by The Star, indicate that the collision involved Ndile's Subaru Forester and a trailer that was headed to Nairobi.

The former MP sustained a fracture on his right leg and left hand. He was rushed to Shalom Community hospital where he was admitted.

According to police records, the former MP failed to keep to his lane leading to the head on collision.

"On reaching the location of the accident, the driver failed to keep to his lane and collided head on with the trailer which was heading in the opposite direction,” the report stated.

The police did not give details on the condition of the occupants of the trailer.

Kalembe was looking to clinch the Mavoko parliamentary seat on a Jubilee Party ticket in the August 8 poll but lost to Wiper Party’s Patrick Makau King’ola.

King’ola garnered 49,690 votes against Ndile’s 16,444 votes.
