IEBC CEO Ezra Chiloba Responds To NASA's Accusations

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) Chief Executive Ezra Chiloba has responded to claims by Suna East Member of Parliament Junet Mohammed that he is facilitating a rigging mechanism to favor Jubilee.

Mr Chiloba took to Twitter on Thursday evening to refute the claims made by the legislator.

Chiloba stated: “I wish I could see myself as powerful as Hon. Junet sees me. The misleading allegations about me can only but polarise the country further.”

Junet had accused the IEBC Chief Executive of making calls to election officials in NASA strongholds to 'manufacture results' in places where no voting took place.

“Ezra Chiloba has duped Kenyans into believing that he went on leave, while in actual fact having stayed long enough after the Supreme Court nullification to sanitize the electoral fraud now being committed and visited upon Kenyans,” Junet stated.

Mr Junet further maintained that Chiloba was still serving interests of the Jubilee Party within the commission.

“Chiloba is now a consultant in chief of Jubilee within the commission and is outrightly procuring fraudulent results to be tallied and posted as votes cast in NASA strongholds,” he lamented.

Junet accused Chiloba of engaging in criminal activities and further invited the Directorate of Crimminal Investigations (DCI) to immediately commence investigations into his allegations.

Last Friday, Mr Chiloba announced that he was taking a leave from office to allow for the October 26 repeat presidential election. Chiloba stated that the decision to take a three-week leave was personal amid the opposition's call to have him resign.

Opposition leader Raila Odinga ,however, revealed at a rally in Kisii last week that he was still running the show at the commission.
