Kenya Is Not Your Colony- Raila Warns US

National Super Alliance (NASA) leader Raila Odinga asked the United States to keep of Kenya reminding them that the country was not their colony.

Speaking during an interview with Voice of America, the opposition leader responded to a warning by the US against using unconstitutional means to ascend to power.

“They are our friends. They can advise us but they cannot force us. Kenya is not a colony of America. We are a free country. We will do as we want.

It is not NASA that has breached the Constitution. It is Jubilee that has created an illegitimate government,” Raila stated.

The NASA leader also addressed claims of division within the coalition affirming that the coalition was not breaking up.

“There are no disagreements. Not a single one. Some people might be a little angry that I did not get that or that. That is normal for a family of many siblings,” Raila stated.

“But that does not mean we are breaking apart. Few people who missed out on the slots in Parliament may want to create small problems. Our enemies think that signals the end. Let them know that such a thing will not happen,” he added.

During the interview, Raila also addressed his plans of being sworn in office with his running mate Kalonzo Musyoka stating that they had won the August 8 election and affirmed that they (NASA) will provide evidence to prove the allegations.

“We do not recognise the October 26 presidential poll. And that is why we are going to the August 8 election and we will provide evidence soon that we won,” Raila stated.

Raila also noted that being sworn in was intended to legitimise the genuine results affirming that they will work just like any other government and form a cabinet.
