The National Super Alliance (NASA) may have to find another venue to conduct the planned Swearing-in of Raila Odinga as the People's President after the Nairobi Business Community applied to use Uhuru Park for their own event on January 30, the day of the highly anticipated oath.
This was revealed by an official of the Governor Mike Sonko-led Nairobi County Government who stated that a church had also applied to use Uhuru Park on the same day.
“We have received requests from the Nairobi business community and a church and we expect the payment to be done on Monday,” he is quoted by Nation.
Nairobi Business Community Chairman Wilfred Kamau, on the other hand, confirmed that they had received permission from the county to conduct a free medical camp at Uhuru Park as long as they paid requisite fees in the region of Sh250,000.
According to Kamau, the free medical camp will target street boys who wish to be circumcised and they will not be charged for the minor surgery'.

“We have written to the county government and we are actually supposed to pay Sh250,000 for the venue tomorrow, January 22.
NASA will have to get another ground if they have an event the same day. We are using Uhuru Park that day,” Kamau stated.
The business community shot to fame in the wake of the Anti-Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) demonstrations that followed the nullified August 8, 2017 Presidential election.
The group battled with NASA supporters as they accused demonstrators of hurting businesses in the city.
Odinga was on Sunday endorsed by leaders from the six Coastal counties to go on with the Swearing-in during a meeting of the People's Assembly.
The former Premier stated that there would be no election in 2022 if the alleged rigging of the 2017 election was not dealt with.
